Puranmal Vegetarian Restaurant in Meena Bazaar, Al Fahidi, offers a rooted experience in North Indian vegetarian cuisine right in the heart of Dubai’s bustling old town area. This spot is best suited for those looking to enjoy a hearty, traditional Indian meal without the fuss, whether for a casual lunch or a relaxed breakfast.

Located conveniently between Al Ghubaiba and Sharaf DG metro stations, Puranmal proves easy to reach for both locals and visitors exploring the historic neighborhoods nearby. The seating arrangement on the first floor is cozy, with a relatively low ceiling that complements the intimate and traditional vibe rather than feeling cramped. It fills up quickly, especially around weekend afternoons, reflecting its popularity as a go-to for authentic vegetarian fare.

The menu has a strong focus on classic dishes, offering variety within vegetarian North Indian and South Indian staples. From the comforting Punjabi Thali and North Indian Thali sets to street-food style treats like Papdi Chaat and Mutter Paneer Samosa, there’s a mix of flavors that appeal to people familiar with Indian cuisine as well as those dipping their toes in. Items like Moong Dal Halwa and Boondi Laddoo bring a sense of nostalgia for anyone who grew up in the region or has a sweet tooth for traditional desserts. Those craving lighter or snack options can also explore dishes like Onion Uthappa or a Cheese Dosa, making it flexible for different meal occasions.

Visitors often appreciate the place for its fast and attentive service, which suits groups and solo diners alike. The atmosphere is warm and utilitarian with a homely touch—more about the food than fancy decor—which aligns with the restaurant’s steady clientele who seem to value straightforward flavors over trendiness. Breakfast offers at affordable prices add a casual dimension, drawing people who want a filling start to their day without needing to stray far from their morning routines.

Overall, Puranmal is a practical choice for anyone seeking vegetarian Indian dishes in a no-frills environment. It fits well for families, groups of friends, or solo diners who want dependable, freshly prepared meals anytime from breakfast into the evening. The bustling neighborhood energy around Meena Bazaar adds a layer of local character, making it part of a larger cultural stroll for those enjoying Dubai’s traditional quarters.

I recently visited Puranmal to try their new AED 12 Breakfast Offer, and it was absolutely worth it! The curated menu had a great variety of delicious options to choose from. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served promptly. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a relaxed morning meal. The staff was friendly, attentive, and ensured a smooth dining experience.I appreciate that the offer is available throughout the week from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at most branches (except Vega and food courts). It’s such a fantastic deal for the quality and taste offered. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, satisfying breakfast, I highly recommend giving this offer a try!

We went to Puranmal in Meena Bazaar for Sunday lunch. The location is quite central, almost midway between Al Ghubaiba and Sharaf DG (previously Al Fahidi) metro stations, which makes it convenient to reach by metro. The seating is on the first floor, and although the ceiling is a bit low, it actually adds to the cozy and traditional ambience. The restaurant was fully packed (likely because it was a weekend), so there was a bit of delay in getting our food served, understandable but worth noting. We ordered paneer bhurjee, dal tadka, paneer tikka masala, masala chaas, and peda lassi. Everything tasted good, except the paneer bhurjee which was just okay & could have been better. The rest of the dishes were nice and flavorful. One highlight here is their wide collection of Indian sweets, including special sweets prepared for festivals, definitely worth trying or even packing to take home. Parking can be a bit tricky, especially on weekends. It’s best to use paid private parking nearby to avoid hassle. On weekdays, RTA parking is usually available. Also, there’s a multistory parking under construction right opposite Puranmal (as of May 2025), which should help once it’s operational. Overall, a great place to bring friends and family, especially if they enjoy vegetarian food and Indian mithai. Service could be faster during peak hours, but still very much a must-try spot in Bur Dubai’s Meena Bazaar.

Amazing food and great service throughout. Took a group here, and the north Indian Chaat and veg kadhi they have is outstanding. Moreover they also used to have this amazing canteen in silicon which we loved. They have really paved the way for Indian food in Dubai
